They are seeking to appoint a dynamic and commercially focused National Sales Manager for their Commercial Division to oversee the ongoing growth and strategic direction for their Australian business.
Reporting to the local General Manager, you will manage a small team and form part of the local Executive Leadership Team in building high level relationships, developing business plans and initiatives that will drive sales and help increase already strong brand and product recognition. With an excellent reputation for quality products and service, the challenge will lie in growing and increasing sales growth through a more strategic approach and working closely with your team to coach and mentor them. Your ability to take directives from the global business yet ensure they are relevant for the domestic market will be imperative to your success. Being able to work cross-functionally with peers globally, R&D and other Sales teams will be crucial to your success. You will need to be able to build long term strategic relationships and foster a mindset around growing market share through a big picture strategy as opposed to short term transactional sales. Ideally marketing has formed part of your remit, so you are comfortable offering a holistic Sales & Marketing solution. Strong financial management capability and a background with P&L responsibility will form part of this role as the successful candidate needs to be a potential successor for the GM. International and domestic travel will also be a requirement for this position.
The ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in business or marketing (this is a non-negotiable) and will have held a similar role where you have been a National/GM of Sales or General Manager/Country Manager for a small to medium sized business within the industrial sector. You will need to have excellent people leadership skills, be able to influence and gain buy in from your team and be able to demonstrate a track record of success in managing and growing a business autonomously.
