This global sporting apparel organisation has a successful track record of growth and an established and loyal customer base. They are now seeking a Production Manager with strong attention to detail, extensive offshore sourcing experience and excellent interpersonal skills to join their team.
Reporting to the GM of Supply Chain & Sourcing, this is a hands-on role that will require you to work closely with the Product Design Team, Retail Operations and other key internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for the Production Schedule, regularly reporting status of production and communicating daily with overseas suppliers to ensure that all orders are entered and followed up for on time delivery. Managing freight and shipping, you will be financially numerate and understand the impact on sales and the bottom line if deadlines and margins are not effectively managed.
With excellent communication skills, you are able to establish and maintain positive supplier relationships and will have sourced directly from overseas and will have strong continuous improvement initiatives to help streamline the international shipping process. You will have sound understanding of AP21 and ZOHO IT systems as well as excellent conceptual and analytical skills. You enjoy taking ownership for scheduling, logistics and the broader supply chain function and are a team player who relishes working in a collaborative team environment.
This is a crucial role and you will need to enjoy the planning process and associated follow up and take pride and accountability in your work. You have a strong customer service orientation and desire to help others. You will bring experience working in retail and/or wholesale apparel production and are able to work autonomously and enjoy being accountable. The successful candidate will need to be fast paced and have outstanding communication and negotiation skills and plenty of drive, energy and passion to join this energetic and committed team.
